Installing Ricochet is easy.
Ricochet films are easy to install. If, however, you are familiar with other protective films on the market, you will notice several differences in handling our material. Ricochet should be cut to approximately the desired size, then placed on the substrate (surface) and trimmed to fit by scoring the film after installation. Note that only the waste edges should be handled after removing the paper backing, as fingerprints will be left on the adhesive.
A light spray of positioning fluid will help with larger installations; press the material into place starting in the middle, working toward the outside edges. Use of a squeegee will help push out excess fluid. Any small puddles left will evaporate through the vinyl as the film cures. Please also note that a light spray of squeegee fluid on the surface of the vinyl will help avoid any marks or scratches being left by the squeegee. When working on vehicles, to get the desired edge on the product, use a thin masking tape on the product, use a thin masking tape to tape the edge and score along the line. The excess film can then be peeled back (it will tear along the score line) to form your final edge.
It is very important to use one of the recommended positioning fluids. Although other films are commonly applied with a high concentration of isopropyl alcohol, using this fluid will react with Ricochet resulting in black spots on the film.
